I'm a total newbie to Linux and recently stumbled upon some awesome setups on TikTok, particularly those featuring Arch Linux and Hyprland. I'm currently using an M1 MacBook Pro and am considering switching to Linux, but I'm curious if I really need to stick with Arch to get those stylish aesthetics. I'm aware that Arch can be pretty challenging to install and maintain since you have to configure much of it yourself. Is it possible to achieve similar looks and setups with other Linux distributions?

You don't have to limit yourself to Arch to get that cool look! While there are ways to install Arch more easily—like using EndeavourOS—Hyprland can be set up on different distros too. It mainly comes down to how you configure it.
If you're considering Hyprland, be aware that it's a tiling window manager. This means you'll rely heavily on keybindings for everything since traditional window controls like close or minimize buttons might not be there. For a more user-friendly experience, you might want to opt for a full desktop environment like KDE Plasma or Cinnamon.
If you want a simpler experience with Hyprland, you might want to check out CachyOS. It comes pre-loaded with some decent defaults, which could save you a lot of time. Just remember, Hyprland is just one of many tiling window managers available.
