I've been trying for two weeks to set up a new AWS account, but I'm stuck on the phone number verification step. Every time I try to verify my number, I get this error message: "Sorry, there was an error processing your request. Please try again, and if the error persists, contact support." I've submitted five support requests, but all I've received are automated replies. The only contact option available is through email, and I don't think anyone is actually reading them. I can't even upgrade my account for better support because I'm still hung up on this step. I've tried three different phone numbers, so I'm sure it's not an issue with them. This is beyond frustrating!

AWS seems to be working fine for some users, as I just created an account a couple of days ago. It could be an issue with your SIM carrier—have you checked that?
Have you tried clearing your browser cookies? Sometimes, cookie issues can cause problems with account sign-ups. You could also try signing up in incognito mode to see if that helps!
I did try incognito mode, but no luck with verification.
Are you using a prepaid card for the account? Sometimes if there's not enough balance, AWS might flag it as a payment issue, which could be complicating your sign-up process.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. If the verification issue persists, you might want to check out this article for troubleshooting: https://go.aws/4obTDII. It might have some helpful steps to follow!

I actually tried using a different SIM carrier, but it didn’t help.
