I've been struggling with Windows for a while and am excited to try my hand at Linux for the first time, specifically Debian. However, I noticed on AMD's spec page that my Ryzen 5 3600 processor seems to only officially support Ubuntu. Does that mean I can't use other distributions? Are there processors that are specifically designed for certain distros, or can I safely install and use Debian?

Yes, Debian will work perfectly on your setup! Your Ryzen 5 3600 will handle almost any current distro you throw at it. The OS support mentioned by companies often relates to commercial partnerships, like Canonical with Ubuntu, so don't let that confuse you.
All modern x86-based CPUs from Intel or AMD will work just fine. The reason you see Ubuntu mentioned is that many people only know about a couple of versions, mainly Ubuntu and Red Hat. But rest assured, your processor isn’t limited to any specific distribution.
Don't sweat it, CPU compatibility is pretty much universal across different distros. Your Ryzen 5 3600 will work without any issues!
Linux is designed to support a wide range of processors, so any CPU from a PC made in the last two decades should be compatible without major issues.
You totally can pick any distro you want with an AMD processor! Ubuntu is derived from Debian, so running Debian should be a piece of cake for you.
