I recently upgraded to a 1000W MSI power supply unit to replace my older one, which I think was on the fritz. I didn't double-check the specs before purchasing, and now I'm a bit worried. My PSU has 3 CPU/PCIe slots and 2 12v-2x6 connectors. However, my 7800 XT graphics card requires 2 PCIe slots, and my motherboard requires 2 for the CPU. Did I make a mistake by getting this PSU, or is there a way to manage with what I have?

I'm planning to switch my CPU from an i7 14700K to an R7 7800X3D, and I'm wondering if I can use just one cable for both. Thanks again for your help!
Hey! It sounds like you might be running into a common confusion with PSU connections. If you’re using an A1000GS model, you actually only need one EPS cable unless your CPU pulls more than 300W. One EPS can handle up to 480W, so you're good there!
