Back in 2023, I had an internet connectivity issue with my PC, so I took it to a repair guy. Instead of fixing it, he wiped my entire drive and charged me $100 without even asking for my permission first. I wish I had looked for a solution online because I found out later that I could have attempted it myself, but I was worried about losing all my files like downloads, screenshots, videos, and photos. Now that I realize how much I had saved on that computer, is there a way to get those files back?

Unfortunately, if the OS has been reinstalled, your chances of recovery are slim. You can try applications like EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard or Recuva. They might help if you act quickly!
If you've been using your PC since the wipe, recovery is going to be tricky, especially if you have an SSD. Files may have been overwritten already. You might have some luck using a bootable Live Linux ISO for recovery, though—it’s worth a shot!
Could you guide me on how to do that? I'm on Windows 10, just to clarify.

Do you have any recommendations for which software works best on Windows?
