Can I still extend my expired AppleCare?

Hey folks, I just noticed that my AppleCare+ coverage for my MacBook Pro expired back in March 2025. I didn't receive any alerts from Apple about its expiration or any chances to extend it. I reached out to Apple Support, and they informed me that my Mac is currently ineligible for any coverage. Since this laptop was quite an investment, I'm worried about potential repairs or issues. I'm considering visiting an Apple Store to see if I might have better luck talking to someone in person about reinstating or extending my coverage. Has anyone had similar experiences or success with this? Any tips would be super helpful! Thanks!

I've only seen Apple make exceptions for cases that are just a few days past the coverage period, and if there's a good reason. It's a bit of a long shot, but worth trying if you feel strongly about it!

Are you based in a country that has AppleCare One? If so, that could be a game changer! They allow you to add products up to four years old, as long as they're in good condition. Check it out if you haven't already!

Oh, I’m from Canada. I guess we don’t have that option then.

It really depends on where you are. In many regions, you have a 45-day window for extensions. Since yours expired in March, you might be out of luck unless you're in a region with different rules.

From what I know, extending AppleCare isn't guaranteed, so your mileage may vary. If you still want to try, definitely take it to the Apple Store and ask about an AppleCare screening. As long as you're within four years of purchase, you might just have a shot at getting it renewed! Good luck!

I’ll definitely head to the Apple Store now! Thanks for the advice!

Wait, is it really four years now? I thought you needed to do it within the first year. Sounds like policies are changing!
