I have an extra laptop, a Latitude 5590, that I'm not using for anything. I heard it's possible to run a Minecraft server on a laptop, and I'm curious if that's true. Can someone explain how I can set this up? Would I be able to play on a different device while hosting?

Absolutely, you can go public with your server if you want. Check out r/admincraft for detailed advice. They have great tips for hosting and managing Minecraft servers.

Definitely! You can host a Minecraft server on almost any system, including your laptop. Just search for instructions on how to host a Minecraft server that match your laptop's operating system. They're applicable regardless of the type of device you're using.

Thanks for the info! But if I decide to run mods on the server, will my laptop need more RAM to keep it running smoothly?

Yes, more mods typically require more resources, so extra RAM could help with performance!
