Hey everyone! I'm developing an app that will send both transactional and marketing emails, and I'm looking into using Mailgun for this. I'm curious if anyone here has experience with their free plan. It allows for one custom domain, but does that mean I can register one domain and still create two subdomains for sending emails? For instance, could I set up auth.myplatform.com for transactional emails and marketing.myplatform.com for marketing emails, or would those count as two separate custom domains?

Unfortunately, those would be considered as two separate sending domains. On the free plan, Mailgun allows only one custom domain. So if you set up auth.myplatform.com, you won't be able to add marketing.myplatform.com unless you go for a paid plan. You could, however, send emails from one domain (like mail.myplatform.com) and just use different mail addresses like [email protected] and [email protected].
They treat each subdomain as a different domain. So, yes, if you're planning to use both subdomains for sending, you'll need to upgrade your plan if you want them registered separately. But you can definitely still send from a single domain, just with different email addresses.
