I'm transitioning from Windows to Linux, and I'm currently using Kubuntu 25.10. I still need some Windows apps like Kindle Reader, Previewer, and Photoshop until I can get comfortable with GIMP. I'm curious whether I'd need to buy a Windows license to run these apps on Winboat. Any thoughts on this?

You will indeed need a valid Windows license to run it as a guest OS in Winboat, just like any other virtual machine setup. If your computer originally came with Windows, you likely have an OEM license tied to it, which means you shouldn't need to buy a new license if you reinstall Windows.

I wiped my Windows when I switched to Linux, but if I ever wanted to go back, I could do it without getting a new license, right?
