I'm really concerned about my privacy because my friend, who's into cybersecurity, claims he can hack into Instagram and WhatsApp servers. He says he does this by executing a DDoS attack, which supposedly gives him access for about 30 seconds. He even shared a picture that I sent to someone else who isn't mutual with him. I don't understand how he got that image if he doesn't know the person I shared it with. This whole situation makes me fearful for my privacy and security on these platforms. Am I overreacting, or is there a legitimate way for someone to do what he's claiming? What should I do to protect myself?

Honestly, your friend sounds like he's exaggerating. What he's claiming isn't really plausible. While he might have that picture, he probably got it from someone else you shared it with, not by hacking into anything.
Yeah, it sounds like all this 'hacking' talk is just bluffing. If he really could breach those servers, you'd have more to worry about! My guess is that he just tricked someone into sharing the picture.
Right? It's mostly social engineering rather than actual hacking. Just be careful about who you share things with.
