Can My Parents Access My Messages Through iCloud Family Sharing?

Hey everyone! I'm 18 and I'm a bit concerned about my privacy when it comes to my messages. My family uses iCloud+, and we have family sharing set up. I'm trying to figure out if my parents can see any of my messages from apps if we're all linked through the same iCloud account. Any insights would be really helpful!

It really depends on the specific app you're using. For basic iMessages on the same account, yes, they might see your messages. But for things like Discord or Messenger, they won't unless they have your passwords. Honestly, at 18, it might be time to get your own account and limit what you share in family sharing.

If you’re using family sharing, you’re probably not on the same Apple account, which is good news for you! Your parents shouldn’t be able to access your messages. Just make sure you're not using the same iCloud account for apps like Messages.

Exactly! iCloud+ doesn't mean you're sharing the same account. Just clarify your setup, and you'll feel better about your privacy.
