I'm using a modular power supply for the first time and I'm a bit confused about the cables. Are they designed to fit in both the PSU and the motherboard in either direction, or is there a specific end that goes where? I've seen some videos suggesting labeled cables go into the PSU and unlabeled ones into the motherboard, but mine has labels on both ends.

Nope, they only fit one way. So, you can't just plug them in randomly. Make sure to match the connectors correctly!
Most modular cables are one-way, like the SATA power and 24-pin ATX connectors. They might look like they could fit either way, but trust me, they don’t. Just check the shape and match them up!
Okay, but how can I identify which end goes into the PSU and which one into my motherboard, especially for the PCIe slot?
The only exception is with some newer PSUs that have reversible cables, like the native 12V-2x6 cable. For most, though, just ensure you plug it in the right way as they won’t work if reversed.
Alright, but how do I tell which end goes where? Looking at the PCIe connectors—do they have labels or something to guide me?

Got it, but does it actually matter which end I plug into the PSU and which into the motherboard? I can tell the connectors apart, but I’m still unsure since both my ends are labeled.
