I've been with SiteGround for several years, and I really appreciate their excellent service and customer support. However, their renewal rates are getting quite steep. For example, my GoGeek hosting plan will cost me around £863.71 for two years, which is about £36 a month when it comes up for renewal in September. While I understand that quality usually comes at a price, I'm hesitant to keep paying what feels like a hefty fee. I currently manage two WordPress websites on this plan; one is relatively low-traffic, and the other is an ecommerce site set to launch later this year. Is it worth sticking with SiteGround, or should I explore other hosting options? I'm looking for some advice on what to do next!

Renewal prices can be brutal across the board. I’ve encountered several complaints about major hosts who lure you in with cheap introductory offers. If you're not using all the extra features they provide like backups and staging, maybe it's time to shop around for a provider that matches your needs without overcharging.
Honestly, £36 a month is way too high for basic shared hosting. You could find a VPS for that price, which gives you more control and resources. If you're up for a bit of server management, looking into options like OVH or Hetzner could save you money in the long run. A cheap VPS can handle multiple sites easily, especially if you use a management tool like RunCloud.
I agree! VPS offers way more flexibility. But you do need to be comfortable with some tech setup. If you could split your sites, maybe use a cheaper host for your low-traffic site and a reliable one for your ecommerce store?
I left SiteGround for the same reasons as you. Their renewal prices forced me to rethink my hosting solution. I found a reliable setup on Cloudflare that worked great for my projects, but I wouldn’t recommend it for ecommerce. You might actually want to look into something like Cloudways for your ecommerce site. They let you scale better without hefty fees on renewals too.
I totally get why you're considering a switch. SiteGround's prices can really skyrocket once the initial deal is over. Have you thought about moving to NixiHost? They offer solid service and have some great pricing that doesn’t jump up after the first year. If you already have some experience with migration, their support team will help you out, making the transition smoother for you.
That sounds interesting! I've heard good things about NixiHost too. What have been your experiences with their customer support and performance?

For sure! It’s all about aligning the price with what you actually need. Doing a dry run migration beforehand can really help avoid any last-minute rush as your renewal date approaches.
