I just received a phone call from a strange 14-digit number and when I answered, I didn't hear anything before the call ended. I'm worried if this could mean that I've been hacked just by picking up the call. Is there any chance answering a call can lead to a hacking attempt?

It's pretty unlikely that just answering a call would hack your phone. Most probably, it was just a spam or scam call. The best advice is to not call back or share any personal information with unknown numbers.
While it's not likely you'll get hacked from answering, these calls can confirm your number is valid, which means they might sell it to spammers. Just be cautious with any calls or texts from unfamiliar numbers.
Thanks a lot for your reply, really appreciate the help!
Almost certainly not a hack, no. But it’s a good reminder to make sure you have two-factor authentication (2FA) set up on your main email and any accounts that carry important info, like eBay or Amazon. It’s also smart to keep backups of any important data.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the info!
