I had an odd experience on the phone with my cousin recently. We've been talking a lot, especially since she's been dealing with some health issues. During our call, something strange happened: I heard a voice from a stranger saying, "Tell her you hav--," and then the call dropped. I tried reaching her again, but it went straight to voicemail. When I questioned her about it, she insisted her phone was malfunctioning and didn't know what I was talking about. I feel like she might have merged my call with someone else's, but I want to know if that's even possible with modern technology. Can phones really connect random people to calls by mistake?

Honestly, it seems pretty unlikely for phones to just add someone randomly to a call like that. I've never experienced anything like that in my two decades of using cell phones. I doubt she's telling the whole truth here.
Did you ever think maybe someone was in the room with her? You know how sometimes friends can break in unexpectedly?
She actually lives alone and has limited local friends, so that seems unlikely.
Was it a male voice? If so, there could be someone influencing her or trying to get something from her, like medications or money. It might be worth checking on her safety directly.
That’s exactly what I was thinking! I've had my phone for years and this is completely new to me.
