Hey, everyone! I'm in a bit of a tough spot here. Back in May, I accidentally visited a sketchy website on my iPhone, which was running iOS 18.3.2 at that time. I've since updated to iOS 18.5 and checked for any strange apps or configuration profiles on my phone, but everything seems clean. Recently, my X (formerly Twitter) account got hacked. Someone changed the email linked to the account and locked me out. I received a 2FA code on my Gmail when they tried to make the change. I admit that I've reused passwords in the past, and there was a hack on my Amazon account back in February. The login locations for my X account hack were about 600 kilometers apart, which adds to my confusion since I have 2FA enabled. I've checked my Gmail for suspicious logins or new devices and found nothing unusual. I also use a security feature that pops up a code from my phone to log into my email. Could my email still be compromised, even though there's no weird activity? Is there a chance my phone could be compromised from that shady site visit, or is it more likely that the hack is linked to a reused password? Any advice would be super helpful!

Have you accessed your Gmail from a computer at all? It’s possible that your email could’ve been compromised through a security breach on another device. Like, you might have a malicious browser extension sneaking around while you're logged into Gmail on your computer, or there might be malware on your machine that could be doing the same thing.

That’s definitely a possibility since I've used my email on multiple computers. But if that’s true, shouldn’t they have been able to get into more of my accounts instead of just my X account? What do you think—could this be more of a computer issue rather than a phone issue? And if it is, would changing my password help?
