I clicked on a link from Google, and the page loaded for just a second before my iPhone powered off completely. I turned it back on, switched to airplane mode, cleared my browsing history and data in Safari, restarted my phone, and updated to the latest iOS. I'm wondering if I should be concerned about malware or if there's something else I should do? My battery seems fine and the phone is operating quickly. I checked my apps and any VPN or device management settings, and everything looks normal. Why do you think it shut off, and what should I do next?

Jumping straight to malware isn’t the way to go. Often, strange shutdowns are due to battery issues or physical problems like a stuck button. It's unlikely that a single webpage loading would trigger any malicious attack. Just keep an eye on it, and if it happens again, then it’s worth investigating further.
Honestly, you might be overthinking it. There’s no real evidence to suggest that your iPhone was infected with malware. These types of devices have solid security measures. It sounds more like maybe the battery just dipped for a moment or the side button got stuck. If the phone powered on right away with a good charge, I wouldn’t stress too much about it!
Thanks for the reassurance! I appreciate it. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something serious.
It’s pretty normal for phones to behave weirdly sometimes and shut down unexpectedly. You’ve done the right things—cleaning the history and updating the software. I wouldn’t worry about malware just yet. If it starts happening more, then you might want to dig deeper, but for now, you’re probably fine.
That makes sense! I just had a bad experience with my social media getting hacked recently, so I’m on high alert.

Yeah, I get that. I’m just being cautious since my last experience with my account being hacked. Thanks for your advice!
