Daily Computer Freezing and Black Screen Issues

I've been dealing with a frustrating problem on my computer where it freezes or goes black-screened almost daily for the past week. This usually happens after I've been watching YouTube or streaming for a while, not during intensive tasks. The freezes sometimes leave the audio running in a distorted way and other times just turn the screens black. Twice, the fans ramped up so loudly that it felt like my computer was taking off! I initially thought it was a driver issue since the Event Viewer pointed to "nvlddmkm" errors before the crashes, but after a clean driver refresh, those errors stopped appearing. I still get random crashes, though. I've checked my RAM and temperatures with no issues found. I got a new GPU and power supply about three weeks before the first crash, around the time I also updated my BIOS. I'm running Windows 11 and have an ASUS B450 motherboard, Ryzen 7 3800XT, and an NVidia GeForce 5070ti GPU. Any idea what could be causing this?

I experienced something similar a while back. I updated the chipset and GPU drivers, and things seemed to improve. However, after the January Windows update, my friend had issues too. Double-check if you have that update installed and consider uninstalling it. It has caused a lot of problems for people!

I hadn't heard about that update causing issues. I've uninstalled it now—hopefully that’ll help! It’s tough to tell for sure since the crashes are so unpredictable, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Have you tried running a system file checker? Open CMD as an admin and type `sfc /scannow`. It’ll check for any missing or corrupted files—could be worth a shot!

I ran the command and it reported no integrity violations. At least that’s one less thing to worry about!

If you recently enabled Secure Boot and updated the BIOS, that could potentially interfere with some hardware. Make sure all your drivers are compatible with these settings too, especially the GPU. It might help to reseat your GPU as well; sometimes a loose connection can cause strange issues.
