Desktop PC Won’t Boot After Power Outage – What Could Be Wrong?

I had my desktop PC running fine until I powered it down to sleep last night. When I woke up, the power was out for a while, and now that it's back, my PC won't turn on at all! The strange thing is, the RGB lights on my RAM are glowing, but there are no other signs of life – no fans running and the motherboard isn't lighting up either. I'm checking all the connections as suggested, but I didn't move my case at all. I don't have spare parts to test whether the power supply is the issue. What steps can I take to troubleshoot this? Or should I just consider taking it to a repair shop?

It sounds like you might be dealing with a bad power supply or potentially a damaged motherboard. If you can, try borrowing a power supply to test it out. If that doesn't work, then you may need to replace the motherboard. It might also be worth getting a quote from a repair shop to diagnose it. For the future, consider investing in a UPS to prevent issues from power outages or surges.

I have my PC on a surge protector, but it’s a cheap one. Other devices are fine, so it’s just my gaming rig that’s acting up.

You might want to clear the capacitors. Unplug the PC completely, then press the power button to discharge it, and wait a few minutes. That sometimes helps reset things. Let me know if that works!

I tried that, but no luck unfortunately. Still dead over here!
