I'm upgrading from an i7 4770K that I built in 2013, and I'm excited about this huge update. Since I don't upgrade often, I'm willing to spend a little extra on quality parts that will last me many years. I'm particularly unsure about my CPU cooler and motherboard choice. I mostly play games at 1440p and have no plans to switch to 4K. Just to clarify, I'm not interested in AIO coolers. Here are the parts I'm considering: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE, Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7, Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB DDR5-6000, Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB SSD, Video Card: Asus PRIME GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Case: Lian Li LANCOOL 216, Power Supply: Corsair RM750x 750W. I'm planning to visit Microcenter while I'm with family over Thanksgiving, and I appreciate any advice!

Your CPU cooler choice is great! I've been using the same one, and it's been fantastic—super quiet and keeps my CPU cool. It's nice to hear you're confident about that pick!
Honestly, fan coolers generally do well, and I’m a fan of be quiet! If you want to consider alternatives, the Dark Rock Pro 5 or Pure Rock Pro 3 are solid options. But your current cooler looks solid.
Appreciate the input! I didn’t have much experience with be quiet! before, but I've heard mixed reviews. They all look pretty similar to me with the heat pipes and radiators.
Your parts look good overall, but I'd personally have chosen the RTX 5080 instead of the 5070 Ti if budget allows. The performance for 4K gaming is undeniable, and it would future-proof your system a bit more. Just something to consider for your long-term plans!
Thanks for the suggestion! I read that the 5070 Ti is sufficient for 1440p gaming, and as long as I'm getting decent FPS, I’ll be happy. I'll think about the 5080 if I can stretch my budget.
The cooler is top-notch, and you got a good thermal paste with it. Your motherboard is decent as well. However, be cautious with the RAM and power supply. Corsair tends to be a bit overpriced, and some suggest looking into other brands that may offer better quality for less money.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll definitely look into alternatives for the RAM and PSU. It's good to know that others have had concerns about the 990 Pro SSD as well.

That's reassuring! I was looking at Noctua coolers but found them a bit pricey for not much better performance. Glad to know I made a good choice.
