Hey everyone, I had a weird experience at Target! A young guy walked by while I was browsing and got his phone really close to my Apple Watch. My watch made a scanning noise, and he laughed, saying 'thanks' before walking away. I freaked out a bit—did he just steal something from my watch? Or was he just playing around? I even saw him doing it to others, like a mom with her kid. Any tips or advice to calm my nerves would be super helpful! Lol

Sounds like it might just be a prank! There's a TikTok trend where people make it seem like they're stealing using their phone near yours. It’s all for laughs, but it can definitely be a bit unsettling!
You should definitely check your payment apps and bank transactions just in case, but typically, you need to actively approve any payments on your Apple Watch. Just holding your watch near someone’s phone doesn’t do anything unless you’re about to pay. So, I wouldn’t stress too much about it being an actual theft!
Exactly! You have to double-click the side button to activate Apple Pay. They can’t just steal money like that without your consent.
