I'm thinking about transitioning from Windows to Linux and I'm wondering if I need to factory reset my computer before making the switch. I'm not completely against it—actually, I prefer the idea. I've saved everything I want to keep permanently on an SSD. If I install Linux before resetting, will that work?

No need to factory reset! When you install Linux, you can simply delete the Windows partition, and it will be gone for good. Just make sure you’ve backed up any essential files first!
Skip the factory reset! Just create a bootable USB for your chosen Linux distro, test it out, and if everything works well, you can go ahead and install it. It’s a straightforward process!
Wonderful! Thanks for the tip!
Honestly, a factory reset isn’t needed if you want to get rid of Windows. Just delete it during the Linux installation—much simpler! Just remember to back up your data to avoid losing anything during the transition.
Great point, I appreciate the advice!

This is what I thought, but I wasn't sure if a clean slate was necessary. Thanks for clarifying!
