I'm upgrading my GPU from a 1080Ti to a 5080 and I'm wondering if I need to worry about the drivers since the 1080Ti isn't supported anymore. Should I just swap them out or is it better to do a clean uninstall first? I've already updated the power supply because the new GPU shipped pretty quickly.

There's really no downside to doing it properly. It only takes about five minutes and maybe two reboots, so why not?
I’d definitely recommend using DDU. When I switched from my 2080 Super to a 3080 Ti, I had trouble getting any video output until I reinstalled the old card and ran DDU first. It might save you some headaches later!
Not sure if it's absolutely necessary, but doing it wouldn't hurt. Better safe than sorry!
Yes, the drivers for these two GPUs are different, so it's a good idea to do a clean uninstall first with DDU.
While it might not seem mandatory, I'd definitely say it's highly recommended to use DDU. It just makes the whole process smoother.
