Hey everyone! I'm hoping someone can help me out. Lately, I've been having some strange black screens popping up while playing various games. These screens last just a second or two and kind of remind me of the old-school black screen glitches when you tab out of a game.
Here's what I've tried so far:
- Changed the DisplayPort cable, but nothing changed.
- Switched between fullscreen and borderless window modes, still no luck.
- Updated my GPU driver, which didn't help either.
The games where I experience these black screens include League of Legends, Dread Delusion, Ball Pit, and Wizard with a Gun. Interestingly, other games like New World, Forspoken, Dragons Dogma 2, and Deck of Haunts run just fine.
I also ran GPU-Z and have it logged (though I'm not seeing anything suspicious). My friend suggested it might be a GPU clocking issue that could be causing the problem.
Here are my specs:
- GPU: 4080 Super
- RAM: 48GB
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X (16-Core Processor)
- System: Windows 11 Version 25H2 (Build 26200.7462)

It sounds like you might be dealing with a driver issue. Have you checked the Event Viewer for any warnings or errors that might relate to the black screens? It could give you a clue on what's causing the problem.
I mean, do you really need 48GB of RAM? 😂 But jokes aside, that’s an impressive setup! Maybe the issue is related to power settings or a GPU clocking down, like your buddy mentioned. You could also check your BIOS settings for any tweaks needed.
