I've been testing out different Linux distros after deciding to switch from my current OS. I created a live USB and tried Kubuntu and Fedora. Both were pretty great! I focused on keyboard settings, and everything mostly worked well. However, I did encounter some issues with Kubuntu, like a distorted microphone when using Discord in the browser, and it took me a while to figure out the sound settings. On the flip side, Fedora has everything in English by default, which is easy to change, but I really appreciated the language setup in Kubuntu. So, I wanted to ask if I'm on the right track with my testing, if there's anything else I should consider trying, and if there are other distros you recommend testing out.

I’d suggest trying Linux Mint or CachyOS. I’ve tested quite a few distros, and those two stood out as my favorites. They both provide a smooth experience.
You’ve primarily tried the KDE Plasma desktop, which is great! If you're up for it, exploring other desktop environments could broaden your experience. That said, I really love KDE. Just a heads-up: relying too much on AI for Linux advice can lead to problems. There are tons of posts here from folks who messed things up because they followed an inaccurate suggestion from AI. Just take some time to understand commands before using them!
Honestly, I’ve been loving Fedora since it first came out, so I’m a bit biased. But if you want to experiment more, you should check out CachyOS; it’s been getting a lot of buzz lately. Just remember to test the features you use regularly to see if they fit your workflow. Linux is super customizable, so even if a distro doesn’t fit perfectly out of the box, you can tweak it to your taste!
