Feeling Anxious About My WiFi Security – What Should I Do?

I've got a bit of a situation here. I think someone might be trying to get my personal information through my WiFi. Recently, I downloaded some cracked files (not my best decision), and it seems to have introduced a Trojan virus or something similar. I ended up reinstalling Windows, and so far, it looks okay. However, I noticed they accessed several of my accounts before I changed all my passwords. My WiFi has been really slow lately, and to make matters worse, someone attempted to log into my sister's account, which is odd since she's never even used my PC. What steps should I take to ensure my security?

Just to clarify, reinstalling Windows means you should have reformatted your hard drive first, right? That’s key to making sure the virus doesn’t stick around. Make sure you install antivirus software afterward too!

And about the cracked files – they can be risky business for someone who's not tech-savvy. Definitely change your router password and do a full system scan, just to be safe. Also, ensure you have backups of your important data, right?

Honestly, what else could you expect from downloading files from dubious sources? Aside from changing your passwords and blocking unknown traffic, consider reformatting your drives to really clean things up.

Definitely, if there’s a chance the virus is on your router, it could keep reinfecting your devices. You should look for expert help to thoroughly cleanse your network.

First off, have you run a virus scan to check for any lingering threats? It’s crucial to update your router’s password as well, just in case they got hold of it. If you're still feeling uncertain, it might be worth getting some professional help to ensure everything's secure.

Great point! And don't forget to check if your router has any firmware updates too. That can help with security!
