I've run into a weird issue where both my desktop (wired) and laptop (wireless) can't access certain websites and applications like Steam and Discord, which just get stuck on an infinite loading screen. This started happening out of the blue—I didn't change anything with my hardware or internet setup, and my ISP hasn't reported any outages in my area. I've tried the usual fixes: restarting my computers, rebooting the router, and double-checking my internet connection, but nothing has worked. I even changed my DNS settings to Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) based on tips from elsewhere, turned off my firewall, and checked for blocked sites on my router. However, only some sites are affected; I can still access YouTube and Microsoft Office. The odd part is that everything works perfectly on my mobile device and when I connect my computers to my phone's hotspot. Any ideas on what might be causing this or how I can troubleshoot further?

I was dealing with a similar problem for a couple of days. Have you tried manually setting your IPv4 address? It worked for me! Set it to 192.168.0.154 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a default gateway of 192.168.0.1. Also, keep using the DNS servers you mentioned. It might just do the trick, so give it a shot!
It sounds like a strange issue! Since you’ve confirmed that the hotspot allows access, it might be time to check your router settings more thoroughly. Sometimes devices can get blocked without you realizing it, or there could be some kind of configuration that’s causing these specific sites to be unreachable. Try accessing your router's settings and make sure there's nothing funky going on there.
