I'm building a new PC and I'm really unsure about which CPU to pick. I primarily play CPU-intensive games, and I've experienced poor performance on my brother's setup, which couldn't even manage 130+ frames per second, while friends with cheaper builds were hitting 500+. He had a 4060 Ti paired with a Ryzen 5 5500. I'm considering using a 4060 Ti as well but I'm thinking about the Ryzen 5 5600X. However, I'm not entirely certain how the 5600X compares to the 5500. If possible, could you suggest a CPU that's similarly priced to the 5600X? Here are the parts I'm looking at: 4060 Ti 8GB, Ryzen 5 5600X, B550M motherboard, and XPG Spectrix D50 RAM. I'd appreciate any other component suggestions too. Thanks!

The Ryzen 5 5500 is actually more comparable to the Ryzen 5 3600, so moving to the 5600X is a good upgrade, but it's not just a minor bump. If you're getting into CPU-intensive games, you might want to look at a model with 3D V-Cache like the 5600X3D, which can provide a significant performance boost for gaming without breaking the bank.
So the 5600X3D really is a strong option?
