Help! My 144Hz monitor is stuck at 60Hz

I've been experiencing an issue where my monitor, which used to run at 144Hz, is now locked at 60Hz. I'm using a laptop with Optimus technology and my operating system is CachyOS. I checked with a command to see if it's utilizing the Intel UHD Graphics, but it confirmed that my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 is active. I also looked into the Xorg logs and it seems like the monitor is connected properly, yet I can't seem to switch back to 144Hz. Has anyone experienced similar issues and found a solution?

Are you using the proprietary NVIDIA drivers? Sometimes, the open-source drivers can cause limitations like this.

Yes, I am using the proprietary drivers.

If it worked before and suddenly stopped, I’d bet the cable might be the culprit. Sometimes cables can just fail or become loose. Have you tried swapping it out?

I get that, but on Windows 10, I can set it to 144Hz without issue.

Could you try a different HDMI cable? That's a common fix for this kind of problem!

I don’t have other HDMI cables on hand right now, but it’s weird since I can get 144Hz on Windows.

Just a tip: always include your Linux distro, your hardware specs, and any errors you're encountering whenever you're seeking technical help! Helps a lot to get relevant advice!

Have you tested a different cable? It might help in ruling out the cable as a potential issue.

I don't think it's the cable since I get 144Hz on Windows!
