I was trying to fix a crash error in Battlefield 6 by changing the ReleaseVersion file in the registry editor, but now my PC is stuck. After making the change, my computer freezes shortly after starting up, and I can't use my mouse or keyboard in the boot menu. The only place my peripherals work is in BIOS. I realize I may have done something really dumb and now I'm feeling hopeless. Can anyone provide some advice?

It sounds like you've hit a common snag with Windows not recognizing devices in recovery mode, which is a known bug. If enabling legacy USB support in your BIOS doesn’t solve the issue, the reinstalling option might be your best bet.
First off, try going into your BIOS settings and look for an option like "Enable Legacy USB". This may allow your keyboard and mouse to function in the boot menu. If you can’t find that option or updating the BIOS doesn’t help, you might need to reinstall Windows. You can create a bootable USB drive for that using the guidelines from Microsoft and then boot from it via BIOS to get back on track.
Just to clarify, if I use a USB to boot up, could that fix the freezing? I'm worried because I modified the GPU files as well.
