Help! My Arctic Freezer III Isn’t Working—What Should I Do?

Last week, I tried replacing my Lian Li Hydroshift AIO with an Arctic Freezer III, but I think something went wrong during the swap and my motherboard may have damaged the CPU—thanks, ASRock. Now that I've switched to a new motherboard (not ASRock), I power it up and the motherboard lights go from yellow to red before it shuts off completely. It won't turn back on for a while after that. The only thing I can think of is that the CPU cooler isn't functioning properly. Since AIOs are super quiet, I can't tell if the pump is actually running. I've replaced the stock fans with Be Quiet ones, connected to my fan hub instead of the AIO cable, and they work perfectly. However, I can't confirm whether the pump on the Arctic Freezer III is doing its job. I've tried connecting it to every CPU Fan header on my ASUS TUF 870E, but it still behaves the same. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

It sounds like your pump might not be working. You usually can hear or feel the liquid moving through the tubes. Have you tried touching them? That could give you a clue if there's flow or not.

I can't hear anything, and I don't feel anything moving in the tubes either.

It's tricky without seeing it, but make sure the pump is connected to the AIO pump header, as it's meant to deliver the necessary power. Try to check how long your system stays on before it shuts down—any patterns you notice could help troubleshoot.

The instructions actually say to connect it to the CPU Fan headers, not the Pump header like some others recommend, but I've tried that option too.
