Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind here. My Google account was suddenly disabled due to what they called 'suspicious activity', and I'm really freaking out. I've been using this account for around 10 years just for email, and nothing out of the ordinary has happened.
Now, when I try to recover my account, Google is asking me for old passwords and my phone number. I've entered my Belgian phone number, but they keep saying they can't send a verification code to my carrier. After several failed attempts, I've now gotten locked out with a message about too many tries.
Currently, the recovery page seems stuck, and other options I've tried just say 'missing information.' I did get an email at my recovery address stating my account is temporarily disabled, but there's absolutely no way to reach their support—no email, phone number, or live chat available. I'm really anxious because I could lose all my important emails and information if my account gets deleted. Has anyone else gone through this? Is there any direct way to contact Google to sort this out?

I went through something similar and had to be persistent. I wrote down all my details, including when I last accessed my account and what devices I used. Then I filled out the recovery form as carefully as possible. I found that being exhaustive with details helped speed things up!
I totally understand your frustration! This has happened to a few people I know. What you might want to do is double-check your recovery email and try using any devices you previously logged in from. Google sometimes allows recovery from those. It might also help to try the recovery form again after a day or two since they might reset the lockout period.
I tried that too, but my old devices don't seem to help. Hoping they eventually respond to your recovery efforts!

Good tip! I definitely think they look for specific info that matches their records. It's a pain, but you might just have to keep pushing through the steps.
