Help! My Laptop Won’t Boot After Downloading Linux

I recently made the switch from Windows to Linux since my laptop can't run Windows 11 anymore. I downloaded Linux Fedora because it seemed user-friendly. However, upon restarting my laptop after the download, I encountered a problem: the Windows loading screen appeared, but then everything went black. The fan is running, but the screen stays blank, and the caps lock and num lock lights are blinking. What should I do to fix this?

Make sure to disable Fast Boot in your Windows settings first, as it can interfere with Linux drivers. After that, do a complete shutdown. Then use Ventoy to create a bootable flash drive with the Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon edition .iso. You can boot from that to check your hardware before installing.

I just started using Ventoy too, and it really is the easiest way to handle ISO files for installing any OS!

It would really help to know more details about your laptop. What model are you using?

Downloading the Linux ISO isn't enough; you need to install it properly! Try creating a bootable USB drive and adjusting some settings in your UEFI. That way, you should be able to boot into the distro without issues.
