Help! My New PC Build Only Sometimes Posts – What’s Wrong?

I've just built a new PC, but I'm facing some issues where it only posts very rarely, especially the first time I try. Most of the time, I see a red CPU light on the motherboard's status checker. Sometimes, pressing the restart button seems to help it get to the POST screen. Once I manage to get into the BIOS, everything runs fine, even for long periods. Here's my setup: I'm using an AMD Ryzen 9600x with an ASRock B850M Steel Legend WiFi motherboard (BIOS version 3.2). I have Kingston Fury Beast RAM (128GB total, but currently testing with 64GB). The power supply is a Cooler Master MWE 750 Gold V2. Right now, I'm running on the internal GPU and plan to add a dedicated GPU later. Does anyone have suggestions on whether I've made a mistake or if I might have faulty parts? I'd really appreciate any guidance!

What cooler are you using for your CPU? Cooling is crucial for stability, and sometimes that can affect performance during the boot process.

I’m using a Thermalright Frozen Notte 240 WHITE ARGB V2 Water Cooler. I've removed the protective sticker from the bottom and applied a pea-sized amount of Arctic MX-6 thermal paste.

Just double-check that you've applied the thermal paste correctly. Too little can be as problematic as too much.

Have you checked for any bent pins on your CPU? It might be worth reseating the CPU just to be safe. Also, a friend mentioned that if the CPU cooler is too tight, it could cause posting issues. It's worth trying to loosen it a bit and see if that helps.

Yeah, I’ll give that a shot next. I wasn't sure if the cooler being too tight could be an issue, but I’ll loosen it a bit and see how it goes.
