So, yesterday I accidentally dripped water from a plant that was sitting on top of my PC into the exhaust port of my computer. I quickly turned off the PC, dried everything thoroughly, and after it seemed dry, I tried to power it back on. At first, it booted up and I could use some apps, but then I encountered an error while gaming which forced me to shut it down again.
Feeling anxious about possible residue left behind, I bought two bottles of 76% isopropyl alcohol and some deionized water. I sprayed the alcohol onto my motherboard and graphics card, then dried them with a cold air drier. I let everything sit for about five hours before trying to power it on again. The fans and some LEDs lit up, but the system still wouldn't boot. I'm really upset because I've saved up for this PC, and I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

One thing you could try is removing the CMOS battery while you continue working with the isopropyl alcohol. It might help reset any issues.
Honestly, it’s hard to say exactly what went wrong without looking at it. You might need to take it to a technician for a proper check. Just a heads up, though, watering a plant on top of a PC wasn’t the best idea—it’s an accident waiting to happen!
That’s so tough! I hope it helps to take it to someone who knows what they’re doing.
I know, right? I was shocked when I read that. I hope it gets sorted out soon!
