I'm facing a frustrating situation where my phone number was reported as spam, and now Apple has placed a block on it. Because of this, I can't use iMessage or FaceTime. I've called tech support several times and submitted a request to lift the block, but each time it gets denied. I rely on this number for my work, and I can't just change it. I'm seeking advice on how to resolve this or if it's a lost cause. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

From what I understand, a number typically doesn’t get flagged based on a single report. It usually requires multiple complaints over time. If you've escalated your case and been in touch with a higher-level advisor, they might have reached out to their Engineering team, which takes a while but is the correct direction to go. Unfortunately, there isn’t a higher authority than that for technical issues.
You could also try using this link to request an unblocking: [Request iMessage unblocked](http://apple.co/IMFT-mac).
I’ve heard similar stories, and honestly, it seems like they rarely unblock numbers once they’re flagged. It's not something that happens easily. Multiple reports can lead to that blocking pattern, so it’s likely involves a history of complaints rather than one isolated incident.
I can’t help but wonder if someone reported you to keep others from finding out about your work. It might also be that a law enforcement agency has contacted Apple about your number due to its association. Unfortunately, blocking seems to happen without much transparency these days, even if what you're doing is legal. It's a tough situation.
This happened to me before, and I ended up needing to switch to Android and get a new number. It was a hassle but necessary; I hope it doesn't come to that for you!

That makes sense, but I've been told to submit reports too, and even after doing that several times, I never got any feedback. Maybe that means they just keep denying it?
