I'm in a bit of a crisis here. Our data scientist, who had the root account for our AWS services, unexpectedly left the company. Now, our subscription is suspended because we didn't pay, and I can't log in to resolve the issue. I tried looking for support, but the links just lead to 404 errors. How can I regain access to my account and data? It's frustrating that Amazon would just cut us off like this without giving us a way to pay and recover our account. Shouldn't there be a better solution in place for situations like this?

It sounds like your best shot is to reach out to the data scientist who left and see if you can sort out payment with him. You might need to offer something to get back into the account. Just make sure this reminds you to have more people involved with access to the root account next time!
So, you're saying you don’t have access to the root account anymore? That’s a tough spot. Honestly, AWS can’t really help you if you can’t prove ownership of the account. Your best bet is to try to reach out to the data scientist. In the future, make sure multiple people have access to critical accounts like that to avoid this issue.
I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Even if you can’t log in, you might still be able to contact support through their form without being logged in: http://go.aws/account-support. Just keep in mind that the help you can get might be pretty limited this way. If you manage to create a new account, you can submit a support case there too: http://go.aws/support-center. Just include all the necessary details so they can understand what’s going on.

Totally agree, making sure multiple folks have access is key. You don’t want to be caught like this again.
