Help! My Son’s Computer Display Is Taken Over by TikTok and He Can’t Close It

My son is experiencing a weird issue where TikTok has completely taken over his computer display. There's no 'X' to close it, and the video that's showing is of a concrete path along a lake, surrounded by trees and cattails. The user of the video is 'SyX92066'. While trying to troubleshoot, several new browser windows opened up randomly, but after closing those, nothing else has popped up. Initially, I consulted ChatGPT, which suggested it's unlikely a hacker, but my son is really worried about losing his Roblox account and other important stuff. Can anyone please help me fix this so I can finally get some sleep?

If all else fails, doing a clean install of Windows via USB can solve this kind of problem as it will remove any potential malware too. That's a pretty solid fix!

Did he click on anything when those new browser windows started popping up? That sounds kind of suspicious. It might just be a full-screen TikTok he accidentally opened up. In most browsers, hitting F11 can toggle fullscreen on and off, and when in fullscreen there's usually no 'X' to close it. You could also try using Alt+F4 to close the window without clicking!

Yeah, Alt+F4 is super useful. It's like hitting the 'X' button but faster. Hopefully, that works for him!

But seriously, what's the actual issue? Is he stuck in an endless loop of TikTok videos? Sounds bizarre!

You might want to just power off the computer and unplug it for the night to stop that TikTok from hijacking everything. In the morning, try downloading a bootable USB drive from another PC to reinstall the operating system. That should clear everything up, including any potential sneaky issues. Just be careful with the reinstall, since that's a big step!

I get that, but don't forget to backup anything important before you go all-in on a reinstall. It's always best to be safe!
