Help! My SSD Isn’t Freeing Up Space After Deletion

I've been struggling with my SSD running out of space lately. A few weeks ago, I posted about my SSD becoming filled up unexpectedly after I deleted some files. Today, I deleted some work software that should have cleared up 6GB of space, but I only saw 1.8GB freed. After working for about 15 minutes, Chrome notified me that there wasn't enough space left to save temporary files. I'm really confused since I lost another 6GB in that short time. Now I can't even reinstall anything. I've heard software might help manage my files, but I can't even download those anymore. I'm using Windows 10, and I'm at a loss for what to do next. Any advice would be appreciated!

I think I need a bit more info to help you better. What size is your SSD? Do you have any additional drives in your computer? And how much RAM do you have? If your SSD is smaller than 120GB, it could struggle, especially with Windows installed. If you have a second drive, you could use it for the swap file, which can free up some space on your SSD. Also, you may want to consider a defrag script for Windows 10; it can really save space!

Just to clarify, does a "swap file" mean the same as a "pagefile"? I'm curious how those work!

Is your user account an admin? That can affect what you can access and delete. Also, do you have other user accounts on that machine? Might be worth checking!

Have you tried checking the list of your installed apps? Sometimes temp files can take up a lot of space. You can press Win + R, type "%temp%", and delete what's there. That might help free up some room!
