I just logged into my Yahoo email and got a weird pop-up that said I was switching to the new Yahoo because of inactivity for 12 months. But that can't be right because I've been verifying my email with codes on other services just recently. When I finally opened my inbox, it was completely empty—no emails at all, not even in the sent folder! The only way to contact Yahoo seems to be through a paid phone service, which is frustrating.
I checked another Yahoo account I own that's filled with emails, and I'm trying to download all my data before anything happens to that account too. Unfortunately, the manage my account page won't load properly, and I'm worried about losing 20-25 years of emails. Can anyone share any advice or tips on what to do? Thanks!

It sounds like a frustrating situation! The pop-up about switching to New Yahoo shouldn't be linked to your emails being deleted, just a way to manage inactive accounts. Have you checked all your folders? Sometimes emails get moved around, and you might find them in the archive or in an unexpected folder. Also, I had a similar issue where my emails weren’t showing up, but they reappeared after a while, so it might be worth just hanging tight for a bit. Let us know if you find anything!
I really can’t stand Yahoo email either. They constantly change things every few months, and it never seems stable. It almost feels like they're using users as test subjects for new features without worrying about the consequences.
Have you checked the archive folder? It's possible your emails were automatically archived—happened to me before without me even realizing it! You might find your old messages there.
Thanks for your response! I did try switching back to Old Yahoo, but it’s still blank. I’ll keep an eye on it for a while just in case.
