Hey everyone! I've hit a snag with my PC. It turns on, with the mouse, keyboard, and power button lighting up, but then it just powers off and cycles constantly. I've tried re-seating the RAM and GPU and reconnecting various cables, but nothing seems to work. Given that I built this Dell with some old parts, I'm starting to consider a different route. I'm thinking about taking my existing components, like the RX 6600 GPU and 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, and moving them into a new case. However, I'm working with a budget, so I'm not looking for anything fancy. My previous setup included a subpar proprietary power supply and a Ryzen 7 2700. All I want is a cost-effective solution to get back to gaming in glorious 1080p! If anyone knows of any good deals on new or refurbished PCs where I could swap in my parts, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

When looking for a motherboard case upgrade, check reviews on compatibility and ease of installation. Some cases are designed to work better with older components and might save you a lot of hassle.
How old is your Dell's power supply unit (PSU)? It’s essential to have enough wattage for your setup. A PSU that’s over 7 years old might not be delivering enough power, especially since PCPartPicker suggests a minimum of 300W just for the CPU, GPU, and motherboard.
First off, does your PC even POST? Can you access the BIOS? If not, that could be a sign of a hardware issue. It’s worth checking if the motherboard is functioning properly.
Unfortunately, it does not POST at all. It’s just a constant cycle of lights.

Yeah, I found out it’s older than I thought. I’ve had trouble finding a suitable PSU that fits my Dell Inspiron 5676-BLU. Even with new hardware, it shouldn’t exceed the original TDP. I’m considering going for a 600W PSU—I heard that would still allow for a Ryzen 5 5600 upgrade without adding power consumption.
