Help with My Surround Sound Setup

I'm having some trouble with my surround sound system. I've hooked up my AKAI AK5819UHDS to my Harman/Kardon AVR130 receiver using HDMI2 (ARC) with an HDMI to RCA cable. I've connected my 5.1 Focal surround system to the receiver, but no matter what I do, the audio is only coming from the TV. I've checked that all the connections are secure, the source channel on the receiver is set correctly, and I've enabled CEC and ARC on the TV. Can anyone help me figure this out?

It sounds like you're using a pretty unusual setup with that HDMI to RCA cable. HDMI to RCA is not a typical conversion and could be the reason your audio isn’t working properly. ARC (Audio Return Channel) only works with devices that explicitly support it, so you'll want to double-check whether that cable can handle ARC. It might be worth looking for a standard HDMI cable instead, which could solve your issue.

Yeah, I agree. That cable might not be transmitting the audio signal correctly. I recommend getting a good quality HDMI cable that supports ARC to see if that fixes your problem.
