How Can I Adjust to a New File and Folder System in Linux?

I've been using Windows since 1998, and I tend to visualize my files based on my drives rather than Windows' designated folders like My Documents or Videos. Now I'm testing Linux on an older laptop that only has one drive, and it's been tough adjusting my mindset. It's like learning a new language—everything feels foreign and requires extra effort to understand. I'm looking for tips on how to retrain my brain to navigate this new file system, especially since I still have to use Windows for work. Any advice would be appreciated!

One approach is to mount your old drive to a folder named 'd-drive,' which you can then access from your file navigator and desktop. If multiple users are on the system, you could set up subfolders for each user under that main folder. That might help you feel more comfortable with the structure!
