How can I bring Windows-like features to Linux?

I'm looking to replicate some Windows experiences on my Linux setup. Specifically, I'm interested in having a clipboard history feature that allows for pinning items and supporting images. Additionally, I'd love a screenshot tool that includes text recognition capabilities. I prefer using KDE, but I'm open to suggestions for other desktop environments that might be more compatible with these features.

Check out a tool called cliphist on GitHub for a clipboard manager that supports many features, including pinning. Just be aware that using Wayland can complicate things a bit because it prioritizes security, which means some features may require extra configuration. For screenshots with text recognition, you should keep an eye on KDE Plasma's upcoming updates as they're adding OCR capabilities soon!

Yep, KDE Plasma’s clipboard history is pretty good! You can even configure its size and settings by right-clicking the clipboard icon next to your clock. Just a heads up, text recognition for screenshots will be available in the next version of Spectacle, which is exciting!

For clipboard history, KDE Plasma actually has this built-in! You can access it by looking for the clipboard icon near your clock. If you want to pin items, just right-click on the clipboard item and select 'pin'. It's pretty straightforward! As for text recognition from screenshots, there are various tools you can explore; you might want to look into OCR applications that are compatible with Wayland.
