I recently received a home theater speaker setup from my boss, and I'm completely new to wiring audio equipment. The setup includes:
- 2 Martin Logan Motion 4 speakers
- 2 Mirage Nanosat speakers
- A Pro Center 1000
- A Yamaha Cinema DSP
I've heard that I need speaker wire and probably an optical cable, but I'm unsure how to go about connecting everything. My boss mentioned that the HDMI switch on the DSP is broken, and the subwoofer is not working, so I'd need to look for a new sub as well. What specific items should I purchase to connect this speaker system to my PC?

You'll want to grab a roll of oxygen-free speaker cable and a wire stripper to prepare the connections. Cut the cables to the lengths you need and remember to match the positive and negative sides (usually one side will have some markings). Also, make sure that you connect everything properly. Just to clarify, did you receive a receiver or amp with the setup? That would help a lot!

I don’t believe there was an amp, just the DSP. My PC does have a SPDIF jack though, can I connect the DSP directly through that?
