Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind with an old Facebook account my parents set up for me when I was a kid. They created a new email just for that account, and I've completely lost track of what it is. Now, I can't remember the username or any other access details. I really want to delete this account since I don't use it anymore. Is there any way I can recover it or get it deleted for good? Any tips would really help! Thanks!

I feel for you! It's so frustrating to be locked out like that. If you've got solid identification, make sure to emphasize that when you contact Facebook. Some users have reported success getting help from actual people at Facebook, but keep your expectations in check. They sometimes have specific rules about account closures after a user has passed on. However, being persistent might lead you to the right person who can help. Good luck!
Honestly, without knowing the email or username, it's a real uphill battle. Just playing devil's advocate, anyone could say they want to reclaim an account, so be prepared for them to be skeptical. If you're able to gather any old correspondence or stuff linked to that account, try mentioning that too. It might not be a straightforward process, and sometimes even paying for assistance doesn’t guarantee a solution, but I wish you luck!
Have you tried reaching out to Facebook support directly? If you don't have any credentials, it might be tough to prove you own the account. But sometimes they do have procedures for situations like this. If the account has your real name or pictures from when you were a child, explain that clearly when you contact them. They can sometimes consider requests for account deletion, especially if your identity can be verified with documents. Just prepare to be thorough in your explanation and don't lose hope—people have had mixed results, but it's worth a shot!
Thanks for the tips! I’ve looked into it, and I'm ready to explain the whole situation. Frustratingly, it feels like a loss of control since my personal info is still out there without my permission. I just want to remove it. Have you seen any success stories on this?
I appreciate the encouragement! I'm ready to be persistent and figure this out. It’s just annoying to think about all that information sitting there. If you remember any success stories, please share!
