I'm looking for a lasting solution to the error message, "your computer appears to be correctly configured but the DNS server isn't responding." I've tried a bunch of things like flushing and renewing the DNS, changing DNS servers, resetting my router, checking for driver updates, and disabling the firewall. Some fixes worked for a little while, but the problem keeps coming back. My internet connection is pretty unreliable as well, cutting out at random times. This all started about a year ago, and the troubleshooter consistently points to the DNS issue as the culprit.

You could reset your network protocol using Powershell or Terminal. Just open it as an admin and run these commands: `netsh winsock reset` followed by `netsh int ip reset`. You might need to restart afterward. It could straighten things out!
Have you tried manually setting your DNS to 8.8.8.8? That sometimes helps with these DNS issues. It’s worth a shot!
First, I recommend fixing your Wi-Fi issue before tackling DNS. If your Wi-Fi isn't stable, the DNS server won't be able to respond properly. Make sure your connection is solid!
My Wi-Fi works perfectly on all my other devices, so I'm not sure what's going on with my computer.

Yeah, I already gave that one a whirl, but it didn’t stick.
