I'm trying to use an inexpensive Android tablet to get some work done, but I'm facing issues with the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) application I'm using. The app has a floating bar at the top that I can't remove, which is frustrating because I'd like a true full-screen experience similar to what classic mstsc offers on Windows. I've also tried Chrome's Remote Desktop, but it doesn't scale my ultra-wide monitor properly and shows the console desktop instead of locking it. I really prefer using RDP due to these details, but it feels like the current Windows application isn't up to par. Am I running out of options here?

If you have control over your infrastructure, Guacamole could be a solid option for you. It allows HTML5 delivery of RDP sessions and supports fly-out panels for controls when necessary. Sounds like it could give you that full immersion you're seeking!
You might want to check out r/techsupport for more insights. From a sysadmin perspective, looking into endpoint management or remote access tools could help. They often have better customization options than the standard RDP app you're using.
Have you considered using the Windows Admin Center? It has a web-based Remote Desktop feature that might serve your needs better. I just started installing it to see how it works for situations like yours.
