I've been struggling for hours trying to regain access to an old email for verification on an old account, but I messed up by adding Google Family Link a while ago. Now that I'm 18, I thought I could just remove myself from it since it's mainly for parents supervising their kids. I've even created two new emails because I couldn't use the old one, but now I have to delete the new accounts to access the old one. My mom and I have both looked through the Family Link app and website, but every time we click a link or button, it just leads us back in circles. I'm really frustrated because it says to exit Family Link I need to delete my account, but that doesn't make any sense since I don't want to lose everything. It feels like a nightmare dealing with this, and it shouldn't be this complicated! Any insights or advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

I feel for you! It can be so confusing. After you’ve been removed from Family Link, there might be a waiting period before you regain full access to your account. Just make sure your mom logs in from her account when trying to remove you. If the links are leading nowhere, contacting Google support directly might be the best way to resolve it. They can give you a clearer idea of the steps you need to take.
To get out of Google Family Link, the family group admin (usually a parent) needs to remove you from the group. However, it sounds like you're hitting a wall with the login issues. If every attempt redirects you back, you might want to try clearing your browser cache or using a different device to see if that helps. Also, try accessing it through the Family Link app rather than the website, as it might be more straightforward. Just hang in there!
We've tried both the app and the website, but every time we try to remove family sharing, it prompts us to log in again and just cycles us back to the home screen. It's so frustrating!
We're really at our wit's end trying to figure this out. I'll definitely consider reaching out to Google support if this keeps up. Thanks for the suggestion!
