Hey everyone, I'm really worried because my Instagram was recently hacked. I've changed the passwords for all my accounts to stay safe, but there's one password I can't remember. I'm trying to reset it, but I'm unsure about how much information I should provide during the verification process, especially with email and phone verifications. Recently, I've been receiving SMS messages with "your account code," and I'm starting to think these might not be legitimate. It makes me feel uneasy, and I'm wondering if I might be under surveillance or if there's spyware on my phone. Does anyone have tips on how to handle this situation and remove any potential spyware?

First off, it sounds like your account was stolen rather than hacked. Definitely change all your passwords and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on all your accounts as a precaution. The messages you're receiving with the account code are probably from someone trying to log into your account, so they’re legit but concerning. Just ignore those and don’t respond to any suspicious messages. You should be fine as long as you're proactive!
Thanks for the info! How do I enable 2FA on most accounts?
